Amy Wilinski-Lyman review Amanda’s Fall

Amanda’s Fall

I never thought I could find such an entertaining, fun book on such a serious subject! In Amanda’s Fall: A Story for Children About Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), the author does an awesome job in making a story about a traumatic brain injury not scary and not boring. I really enjoy the rhyming verse, lovely soft colored illustrations and how the book is written from the point of view of the child with the TBI. As a brain injury survivor herself, Kelly Bouldin Darmofal knows all too well what it’s like to enter that challenging world. I was totally hoping for more resources at the end, and voila, they were there. Thank you Kelly for bringing light to a difficult topic!
