Meet the staff of Loving Healing Press


Ernest Dempsey
Associate Editor
Karim Khan, pen named Ernest Dempsey, hails from Hangu, a small town in Pakistan. At age twelve, he started writing detective stories, horror, thrillers, and humor. He has a Masters degree in Geology and one in English Literature. He has authored four books and, in just the last few years, seen the publication of his poems, essays, short stories, and literary reviews worldwide. He is now the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Recovering the Self: A Journal of Hope and Healing (www.RecoveringSelf.com) and also works as the country editor for Pakistan on the celebrated Internet news channel Instablogs (www.instablogs.com). Khan is now looking forward to completing his first novel.

Richa Kinra (1984-)
Illustrator
Internationally published illustrator of several children’s books, adult fiction books and spiritual poems. Her books include titles such as Annabelle’s Secret: A Story About Sexual Abuse, Will the Courageous: A Story About Sexual Abuse, Debra meets her best friend in Kindergarten. She is from India. She lives with her family, and says she received a lot of encouragement from her parents and friends who saw her artistic talent. Apart from children book illustrations she has also freelanced for various magazines and websites. Her hand painted works are primarily in watercolors, acrylic and oils, sometimes incorporating colored pencil, dry colors, pen & ink and/or collage.

Michal Splho (1972-)
Job: Graphic Arts
For decades involved in painting and exhibiting artworks. Skilled in oil painting, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, inkdrawings. Trained in classic drawing and painting style. From 2002 involved in computer graphics and typography. Working with major Slovak publishers as typesetter, cover designer and illustrator: SOFA, Slovart, Pharmamonitoring. Four years working in major Slovak weekly magazines Domino forum, Zurnál – typesetting, design and illustrations. Now developing cooperation with foreign publishers in UK and USA – typesetting, cover design, illustrations: Seven Arches Publishing, Melrose Press, Loving Healing Press, Computer Review. Michal lives in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Victor R. Volkman (1964-)
Job: Senior Editor
Created Loving Healing Press in 2003, Modern History Press in 2006, Marvelous Spirit Press in 2009. Author of several anthologies including Beyond Trauma: Conversations on Traumatic Incident Reduction and More Than A Memory: Reflections of Viet Nam. Host of the publishing podcast Authors Access. Victor is responsible for marketing, manuscript acquisition, foreign rights sales, editorial strategies, and series development. BS in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University. He is CEO of Loving Healing Press, Inc. He currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
